1. 1. By utilizing and synthesizing the basic knowledge on dentistry and periodontology, analyzes and resolves problems, achieves unique outcomes and novel treatment methods and educates the community about these developments.

2. 2. Easily accesses to recent knowledge in periodontology by utilizing fundamental master?s degree knowledge and by analyzing and synthesizing these knowledge, develops unique opinions.

3. 3. Knows and effectively utilizes the technical equipment and instruments used in diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases/conditions.

4. 4. Internalizes ethical and legal responsibilities against his/her patients and the community.

5. 5. Effectively communicates and establishes a dialogue with patients, relatives of patients and other health professionals.

Conducts a search for a scientific research on clinical and basic sciences, performs a literature search on a specific topic, develops study plans, analyzes the data statistically and shares the data as minimally one scientific paper in national/international peer-reviewed journals or as a presentation in scientific meetings.

7. 7. Analyzes and interprets all the data required for development of diagnosis in all diseases/conditions that affect periodontium, peri-implant tissues and related structures.

8. 8. By cooperating interdisciplinary health professionals, evaluates the results of periodontal therapy and potential risk factors for disease development/progression, develops a patient/condition based treatment plan and maintenance phase.

9. 9. Determines the prognosis by analyzing the current periodontal condition, develops a comprehensive periodontal treatment plan including the dental implant therapy, and communicates with the patients on the status of the periodontal condition and treatment requirements.

10. 10. Educates the patients and the community on etiologies and prevention of periodontal and mucosal diseases, motivates the patients for internalizing self-responsibilities for prevention of periodontal diseases.

11. 11. Systematically analyzes and evaluates recent technologic developments and knowledge on periodontology and utilizes this knowledge on routine clinical practice.

12. 12. Internalizes basic principles and knowledge on periodontology and combines this with recent evidence based information in professional practice.

13. 13. Has a comprehensive knowledge on mechanisms, effects and interactions of different medications of systemic diseases that may have an impact on periodontal tissues and related structures.
