D.1. General Information about Program

The Institute of Child Health and Diseases through the instrument of the Hacettepe Faculty of Health Science, have begun the studies about the family health and put into practice the educational programs of PhD and master of scirma ence degrees on this issue. In 1980-1981 the Institute programmed the educational activities individually differently from the Faculty of Science Health, gave the education of master of science on the branch of Immunology. Today this practice is performed in the context of sub-specialty affiliated with the Ministry of Health. Since 1982 in accordance with the law numbered 2547 of the Higher Education Institute, and associated instructions, the education of postgraduate and PhD programs have begun. The language of education is Turkish. The programme have also laboratory practices.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The education period is two years (4 semesters). Students are required to be successful in must/elective courses and seminar course during the first year. In the second year they have to proceed with their thesis studies and be successful in the thesis defence exam. 21 credit (120 ECTS credits) is required for the graduation (H.U. graduate education and exam regulation*)

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

In order to have an approval for national or international students; the courses, their contents and similarities with H.U. Immunology MSc programme must be evaluated and confirmed by academical board (H.U. graduate education and exam regulation*).

D.7. Goals and Objectives

In the concept of immunology; to educate scientists who have experience and skill in the field of immunology and laboratory techniques .

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Immunology, MSc graduates genarally continue their doctorate (PhD) education in national or international programmes, pursue their academic carreer and work in academic positions. Additionally; they can work in; government, charitable foundation and private entities as an expert.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

‘Principles of Basic Laboratory Techniques', ‘Basic Immunology Lectures ', ‘Laboratory Techniques in Immunology', ‘Seminar' and ‘Special Subject (Thesis)' lectures in Immunology MSc Programme are must courses and compose 75% of the total 120 ECTS credits that is required for the graduation. They can be selected from other programmes within or outside the institution according to students research subject.

D.16. Graduation Requirements

Students should achieve must/elective courses in the first year , complete and defence a thesis Project  succesfully in the second year.  Students need to complete 21 credit (120 ECTS credits) for graduation.
