The programme operated under Painting Division on Social Sciences Institute before moving under the Institute of Fine Arts on December 1st, 2012. The program courses are carried out in the graduate workshop, mural painting workshop, printmaking workshops, drawing workshop and theoretical classroom within the painting department. The language of the programme is Turkish.
Our students and graduates participate in prestigious exhibitions in national and international art platform, and also partake in the organization of various world renowned exhibitions. Some of our graduates also serve as founding faculty members of new universities in our country.

The candidates are required to have an undergraduate degree, first and foremost. The requirements mentioned in article of the Hacettepe University Regulations for Graduate Education must also be met.Â
To graduate this program, the students must meet the requirements mentioned in the related article of the Regulations on Graduate Education, must have completed the compulsory courses required by the programme, completed their artistic work and fulfilled the credit requirements of related article of the Regulations on Graduate Education (at least 21 credits in national system, 120 credits in ECTS).

The recognition and accreditation of students who come to our university through national or international programmes such as Erasmus programme, Farabi programme etc. is done by the approval of the Department Committee and the decision of the Institute Board. The approval of the of Department Committee and the decision of the Institute Board is also required for the accreditation of prior courses of students who transfer from other universities.

The goal of the programme is to educate individuals who use their technical knowledge and skill in the field in creating an original artistic language, who has the tools and artistic notion to compete on an international scale, and who can use their creativity to the fullest in creating a work of art.
Graduates can work as independent artists, art directors, art consultant, etc. and also in various positions and as faculty in educational institutions. The growing art market in Turkey and the world provides a wide range of possibilities for Painting graduates through galleries.

The courses in our programme run for one semester. The programme consists of 4 semesters. The compulsory course ratio of the programme is %70, elective course ratio is %30. Apart from the department compulsory classes, the students may take elective courses from the department, or other departments. The programme consists of special subjects course of not less than 21 national credits and an artistic work. The ECTS credit is courses of no less than 60 credits, special subjects class of no less than 60 credits and an artistic work.
The requirements mentioned in article of the Hacettepe University Regulations for Graduate Education must also be met.

The students who meet the requirements of article of the Regulations on Graduate Education and obtained the required 120 ECTS credits of the Master's program of the Department of Painting are eligible for graduation, provided they have completed the compulsory courses and applications. The students who obtain education in other universities through the Erasmus programme must meet the ECTS credit required for the semester.
