Department of Bioinformatics has a leading and interdisciplinary education and research programme. Our graduate level programme leads Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Bioinformatics.
Our MS programme is offered in Turkish. Our PhD programme is offered in English and provides an ORPHEUS level PhD training programmeÂ
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary and active research field. It combines biology, mathematics and computer science to efficiently transform massive amount of biological data generated through new cutting-edge technologies i.e. genomic, transcriptomic, microbiomic, proteomic data into useful information. Students graduated from our programme acquire skills to use different tools to process high-throughput data as well as to develop new algorithms to analyse biological data.
We have a harmonious research environment. Students in our programme will have opportunity of working in diverse groups working in the fields of transcriptomics, pharmaceuticals, genomics, human genetics, human evolution and population genetics.Â
