D.1. General Information about Program

Master of Science Programme in Sport Sciences and Technology provides specialization in the following areas: Exercise Biochemistry, Exercise Physiology, Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sports Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition and Metabolism, Sports Pedagogy, Sport Psychology, Sports Sociology and Training Science. In this respect Sports Sciences and Technology Master of Science program is designed to help students to better understand the scientific basis of human performance in general movement and competitive sports, and the influence of exercise, movement and sport on health and behavioral related issues. This program provides multi and interdisciplinary emphasis with a variety of knowledge in Sport and Movement Sciences.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

Undergraduate graduates of the Faculty of Sport Sciences and graduates of at least 4 years of college and faculty undergraduate diplomas approved by the Board of the Department are accepted.


To have ALES (SAY / EA / SÖZEL) score type and ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by the Institute of Health Sciences and approved by the Hacettepe University Senate http://www.saglikbilimleri.hacettepe.edu.tr/en/menu/ales_foreign_language_scores-252


To meet the application requirements of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and Institute of Health Sciences.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Programme Requirements: The students studying in this program are required:

  • To take a minimum of 7 courses with a seminar and complete a Master Thesis.
  • To succeed in all the courses with a letter grade of at least C1.
  • To have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50/4.00 with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Graduate courses that a student has taken from national/international higher education institutions in the last five years before enrolling in the program, including graduate courses taken as a special student, are transferred to the student's program and recorded in the diploma supplement (transcript) within the framework of the principles defined in Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations, with the opinion of the advisor, the recommendation of the department and the decision of the Graduate School Executive Board. Candidates who have a bachelor's degree in disciplines other than Sports and Movement Sciences may be required to complete scientific completion in this field.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Those who successfuly complete Master of Science Programme specializing in either Exercise Biochemistry, Exercise Physiology, Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sports Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition and Metabolism, Sports Pedagogy, Sport Psychology, Sports Sociology or Training Science is rewarded Masters Degree in Sport Sciences and Technology.

Graduates may either continue on their academic studies in national or international universities as PhD candidates or go for a job in private or state foundations where Movement and Sport Science is used or developed.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

Back

MSc program in School of Sport Science and Technology is composed of 4 semesters. Pre-requisites for the courses are provided in the course syllabus in the Programme Information Package. To graduate from this programme student has to get at least 120 ECTS. This credit load includes the credits of Seminar course and Master Thesis which are compulsory.
