D.1. General Information about Program

Postgraduate Programs in the Computer Animation and Game Technologies was established under the Computer Graphics Department in the Institute of Informatics of Hacettepe University.

Non-thesis Master's Degree Program in the Computer Animation and Game Technologies is based on aesthetic principles, design and development of computer animations and computer games for students who want to make a career. Our program focuses primarily on Computer Animation to provide highly skilled professionals which is required for video gaming and digital animation/visual effects industries.

Our Computer Graphics Department has a MOCAP lab with 8 Vicon Cameras and a Computer Animation lab with a total of 15 Graphics Workstations.

The official language of the program is Turkish.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

Candidates who want to study in the Computer Animation and Game Technologies Non-Thesis Master's Program must meet the following conditions:

· Graduating from a four-year undergraduate program.

 

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Back

The students studying in this program are required:

  • to take a minimum of 10 courses with a minimum of 30 local credits and a Graduate Project. (The Graduate Project are non-credit and graded on a pass/fail basis.)
  • to succeed in all the courses with a letter grade of at least C1
  • to have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50/4.00 with a minimum of 90 ECTS credits.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

It is possible to transition from graduate programs in the university or other higher education institutions to the doctoral program of the department. The necessary conditions are stated in the regulations of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and examination. In addition, studying at a higher education institution under graduate or graduate education or who want to improve their skills by completing a specific subject knowledge and practice may attend the classes as a special student with the approval o the board of directors, the course manager.

Non-thesis Master's Degree Program in Computer Animation and Game Technologies, education and training of animation with computer. The course provides first-hand experience in the latest three-dimensional graphics and animation technologies as well as the education and training of necessary tools and technologies in order to create computer games. With this program students will explore the comparison of basic design concepts and the sensitivity of human perception in the sense of interaction of surface with light. Students will learn concepts such as interaction design, modeling of objects, camera control, and character equipment for graphic animation, particle usage and surface techniques. Students can make shadowing, patterns, characters, 3D stages and 3D graphic animations with these perception and technical skills, enable behaviors with artificial mind practices to the creatures included in the stage and will use the things they learn either by making short-films or developing computer game. Graduates will also possess a animation orientated programming knowledge which is highly sought after by the computer animation industry.

The students graduating from this program, will have a personal animation demo reel with samples of your work to showcase to potential hiring studios, as well as a degree. Our graduate will work as an Animator, Character Animator, Technical Animator & Rigger, Game Designer or Game Developer in several animation studios or game studios. Either way, you'll be ready to create memorable characters and bring them to life!
