D.1. General Information about Program

Postgraduate Programs in the Computer Animation and Game Technologies was established under the Computer Graphics Department in the Institute of Informatics of Hacettepe University.

Master's Degree Program in Computer Animation and Game Technologies is based on technical principles, design and development of computer animations and computer games for students who want to make technical career.

Our Computer Graphics Department has a MOCAP lab with 8 Vicon Cameras and a Computer Animation lab with a total of 15 Graphics Workstations.

The official language of the program is Turkish.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

In order to study in this graduate program, the applicants;

• holding Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degrees are eligible to apply.
• must take the Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and receive a minimum standard score of 60 in the score type of SAY.
• may choose to submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and/or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) scores that is instead of ALES scores. The minimum acceptable GRE and GMAT scores are determined by the Senate.
• should receive a minimum score of 60 in the Foreign Language Examination (YDS) or its equivalent in a foreign language tests such as TOEFL (Test of English As A Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System) accepted by the Senate.
• to be successful in the scientific interview.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students studying in this program are required:

• to take a minimum of 24 local credits, one Research M.A. Thesis course, and a thesis. (Research M.A. Thesis and Thesis are non-credit and graded on a pass/fail basis.)
• to succeed in all the courses with a letter grade of at least C1
• to have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50/4.00 with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

It is possible to transition from graduate programs in the university or other higher education institutions to the doctoral program of the department. The necessary conditions are stated in the regulations of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and examination. In addition, studying at a higher education institution under graduate or graduate education or who want to improve their skills by completing a specific subject knowledge and practice may attend the classes as a special student with the approval o the board of directors, the course manager.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

Master's Degree Program in Computer Animation and Game Technologies, education and training of animation with computer where scenes are created by using three-dimensional models and realistic illumination models are given as well as the education and training of necessary tools and technologies in order to create computer games.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Our graduate will work as an Animator, Game Designer or Game Developer in several animation studios or game studios.

Master's Degree Program in Computer Animation and Game Technologies, education and training of animation with computer where scenes are created by using three-dimensional models and realistic illumination models are given as well as the education and training of necessary tools and technologies in order to create computer games.
