D.1. General Information about Program

Firstly, Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation -Occupational Therapy Master's and Doctoral programs depending opened in 1996. Occupational activities were covered by the program unit and after graduation, and many scientists in the scientific study of over 150 theses, and dissertations produced. The Board of Higher Education Law No. 2880 Law No. 2547 of 02.18.2009 pursuant to Article 7/d-2 changes due to Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Occupational Therapy and then this program was continued Institute of the Health Sciences Department of Occupational Therapy.

Evidence-based scientific research within the field of occupational therapy knowledge and skills enough for gaining, functional performance, the disabled and marginalized literature to reach all the disadvantaged people, develop new research, work with various professionals, develop effective communication and research skills, adopting the principles of lifelong learning, the disabled can develop appropriate occupational therapy activities, occupational therapy services and professional development organization to adopt the principles of accessible and can be adapted for people with disabilities and professional judgment of the environment that can facilitate the synthesizing of information about, for participation in social accessibility, functional analysis of human movements, assistive technology, people through all ages, functional orientation of scientific research and development and to increase the quality of life is to train specialists capable of producing.

Educational research and practice units for clinical training, Occupational therapy equipments, assessments and intervention tools and laboratories ( Activities of daily living, virtual reality, computer functional movement analysis laboratories, etc.) have been available in the Hacettepe University Faculty of the Health Sciences Department of Occupational Therapy.

* Students who graduate from a program other than the ergotherapy program are required to study the Scientific Preparation.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Successful students who have successfully completed all the courses required for a total of 120 ECTS credits in this program and who have a GPA of at least 75 (at least 2.50 out of 4.00) prepare a thesis on a subject they will determine with their thesis supervisor and defend their master's thesis before the jury. has to. A master's diploma is awarded to a graduate student who is successful in the thesis exam and fulfills the Graduate Education Graduation Requirements of the Institute of Health Sciences.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

A student who is currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program upon submitting all required documents before the deadline, may transfer to the courses which included same information another university master's program at Hacettepe University upon the recommendation of the department administration and with the approval of the Administrative Committee of the Institute of the Health Sciences.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

Student who accepted the Occupational Therapy program, establish a relationship between theory and practice, health, illness and the conceptual relations between the functions of occupational therapy disclosure, critical-thinking skills, development of evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary communication skills in the research and development of lifelong learning abilities.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduated student has worked in the hospitals, rehabilitation centers, children with special needs' schools, industrial areas, private institutions, vocational rehabilitation centers and sheltered workplace. In the same time, they have also worked a lecturer in the university and keep going to their PhD.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

The program lasts at least 4 semesters with 2 semesters of course period and 2 semesters of thesis work. The student must take 30 ECTS in one semester.

 The program consists of a total of 25 ECTS compulsory, 35 ECTS elective courses and 60 ECTS thesis work. Elective courses can be chosen from other graduate programs in the field.

D.16. Graduation Requirements

In this program, a total of 120 ECTS credits for successful completion of all the courses to be taken and the overall grade point average of at least 75 (at least 2.50 out of 4.00), the successful students, with the remaining period of time determined by supervisor prepare a thesis. In order for the students to take the thesis defense examination as of the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, they must produce an article from their thesis, have written this article according to the spelling rules of a scientific journal and must have submitted it to the relevant journal.

With the Decision of the Academic Committee of the Occupational Therapy Department, our department's graduate students are required to make a poster / oral presentation at an internationally attended congress and document that this presentation has been published in the congress booklet or journal or document an article that the student has made and received / published an acceptance letter in order to take the thesis defense exam. . This rule is valid for all students who will take the master thesis defense exam as of 2020-2021 Spring semester.
