D.1. General Information about Program

Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics subdivision has been established in 1993 under the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology according to the related terms of Higher Education Law with the number 2547. The education in Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics subdivision has been continued since it has been established at the level of B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. The major aim of this subdivision is to support the knowledge of pharmacists, who are experts on drugs with Biopharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics courses, to provide doctorate education for them, and further make these people serve in industry, government and universities. The Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics program governs the pharmacists and medical doctors.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

·         must be graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical School, to maintain the criteria according for the Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Application Rules of Postgraduate Education

·         For the students originating from other disciplines, a preparation program will be applied. The missing parts regarding their undergraduate education will be completed from the coursed of Faculty of Pharmacy undergraduate courses.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

For this program, students must firstly complete courses that correspond to 120 AKTS credits and complete them with a graduate point average (gpa) of 2.75; and afterwards they must also decide on a thesis topic with their supervisor and defend this thesis in front of the jury. D.7. Goals and Objectives

To provide enough knowledge and ability to calculate and evaluate pharmacokinetic parameters that are originating from the bioavailability parameters, to transfer knowledge on the in vitro and in vivo evaluation on modern therapeutic systems, controlled release and especially targeted systems, and biotechnology products; to train qualified personnel who has the capability to evaluate how the availability of pharmaceutical dosage forms are affected by preformulation and formulation design and perform practical application in laboratory conditions, to train qualified personnel who has the ability to evaluate statistical and mathematical capability for the evaluation of drug effectiveness and also who can effectively use softwares for this purpose.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

Program is composed of 15ECTS obligatory seminar courses, 14 ECTS obligatory courses, 31 ECTS elective course, 60 ECTS master of sciences thesis. Elective courses may be selected from the courses that are listed in Health and Physical Sciences Institute programs.All obligatory and elective course are listed in Course Structure Diagram. Students can take these courses in different semester with the condition of ensure of total credit requirements.

The students must earn 2.75 or more grade point average and also must succeed thesis exam

The students who have completed obligatory courses of the program successfully and having a grade average point of minimum 2.75, may propose thesis study after the end of second semester.
