D.1. General Information about Program

Turkish Education Doctorate Program is a four-year program (8 semesters) conducted under the Institute of Educational Sciences. The program was established to train researchers and experts with professional knowledge and skills in the field of Turkish Education.

It is expected that the experts and researchers who will be trained within the program will contribute to the relevant knowledge in addition to the need for qualified teachers in the field. Graduates who complete the program carried out by the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education will have the equipment to lead the field.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

Applicants with the following conditions may apply to this program:

- To graduate from the Turkish Education Master Program with Thesis, Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Master Program with Thesis, Teaching Turkish to Turkish Children Living Abroad Master Program with Thesis, Teaching Turkish Language Education with Linguistics Master's Program with Thesis, Turkish Language and Literature Teaching Program with Thesis.

-Turkish Language and Literature Master Program with Thesis, Modern Turkish Dialects Thesis Master's Program, Turkish Folklore Thesis Master's Program and Institute of Educational Sciences outside the Institute of Turkish Teaching Foreigners applicants are required to complete the scientific preparatory courses for admission to the program.

-To provide conditions in Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.

-To have 3.00 or more graduate graduation grade point average over 4.

- To have scored 60 or more from the YDS or examinations considered equivalent by Higher Education Council.

-To get points 70 or higher verbal score in ALES or from equivalent exams considered equivalent by Higher Education Board.

- To be successful in the Entrance Exam.

 

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Doctoral Program students must successfully complete at least a total of 240 ECTS credits, including a seminar. They must prepare a doctoral dissertation under the supervision of an advisor appointed by the department and be successful in the thesis exam.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of previous formal (formal) learning in Turkish Higher Education institutions is carried out within the scope of the relevant regulations determined by the Higher Education Council.

If the conditions stated in the regulation are complied with, a limited number of course credits can be transferred between departments or it is possible for a student to continue their education in a different section. Recognition in higher education in Turkey is the recognition of non-formal education in such an early stage by HEC not have a lot of learning experiences outside the formal education remainder is not yet possible.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

The aim of the Turkish Language Teaching Program is; to educate science doctors who can follow up the current national and international sources on scientific subjects in Turkish education; to find solutions to problems in Turkish education with research, inquiry, critical thinking and problem solving ability, have knowledge about contemporary teaching methods and techniques in the World; and have adopted lifelong learning.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduates of the Turkish Language Teaching Program are graduating with the title of “Doctor of Science”. Those who complete the program can take part in research, program, audit and management positions in the teaching and research staff of universities, private schools, public schools, special education centers and in various units of the Ministry of National Education.

Turkish Education Doctoral Program is a program following the National Curriculum that prepared under the Turkey Higher Education Qualifications Framework of Higher Education Institutions in Turkey. Candidates who attend the program will be able to take elective courses both from our department and different disciplines in accordance with their interests and abilities.

The assessment and evaluation methods applied for each course are described in detail in the Assessment System tables prepared by the relevant faculty members and included in the information package. The relevant articles of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied for the exams and course grades.
