D.1. General Information about Program

Health Care Management Program, was founded in parallel with the development and evolution of health management all over the world. Program aims to improve the knowledge of administration of health services and institutions by educating, training and researching at undergraduate and postgraduate leves, and preserves the role of being the first and the leader department in this field in Turkey. To educate students who can contribute to solve the problems of health care sector, are decision-focused (information systems, planning, marketing, governing board, relations with medical staff, organization relations with its environment, and budgeting), and are practice-focused (coordination and team work abilities, interpersonal relations, following the behaviors and practices of successful health care managers).The language of instruction is Turkish.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

1. Applicants who apply to the program must have completed a four-year Bachelor's Degree with an average of at least 2.50 over 4.00 (four).

2. Applicants are required to score at least 60 standard points from either one of the quantitative or verbal or equal weight categories of the Academic Staff and Graduate Education Examination (Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitimine Giriş Sınavı, ALES) organized by Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi, ÖSYM). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score, determined by the Hacettepe University Senate, in the internationally recognized GRE and GMAT examinations.

3. Applicants are required to score at least 60 in the Foreign Knowledge in Foreign Language Placement Examination (Yabancı Dil Seviye Tespit Sınavı, YDS). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score from other foreign language examinations, held at the national or international level, whose equivalence is approved by ÖSYM.

4. International students' applications are accepted in line within “Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation" in Official Gazette (29 November 2016, No:29900).

5. The students who are admitted to the program might be required to take relevant course/s from the Scientific Preparation Programme, in case deemed to be a necessary by the jury of the oral exam.

6. Those conditions, which are not included, are applied in accordance with the related provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education, Instruction and Examination Regulations (Hacettepe Üniversitesi Lisansüst Eğitim, Öğretim ve Sınav Yönetmeliği).

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to graduate from the program, it is necessary to have successfully completed at least 120 ECTS credits and to be successful in thesis defense examination.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Graduate programs may be accepted related university or an other institute department in higher technological institute or another institution of higher education graduate program successfully completed at least one semester of student by transfer. Admission requirements to transfer determined with regulations adopted by Senate.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

To educate Health Care Management experts who are open to new developments in this area, able to communicate with other health care workers, able to work independently, able to work others in a coordinated manner, have job responsibility, open minded, intellectual, and reliant on ethical issues by providing universal and updated Health Care Management education.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The students who graduate from Program of Health Care Management with success, have an opportunity to be employed at a wide range of service areas, at the hospitals as the first instance, and in various health institutions and foundations at the public and private sector as mid and high level managers responsible for administrative, financial and technical tasks.

On evaluation and assessment methods for each course faculty member / s included in the package prepared is defined in the by the Information "Course Teaching Plan".

Exams and course notes, in relation to the success of HU Master's Degree, Doctor of Philosophy on Education and Examination Regulations shall apply.
