D.1. General Information about Program

Education is performed at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Medical Microbiology Department classrooms and laboratories. Language of education is Turkish and foreign students may apply the programme.

The aim of microbiology master programme is to obtain graduates compatible to international standards in microbiology, having general information and understanding on microbiology and experience on scientific research methods.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

To be a graduate of Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Biology Department of the Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Nursery, Nutrition and Dietetics Department of Faculty of Health Sciences or Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

To be a graduate from a programme accepted by the Medical Microbiology Department Academic (with the condition of Scientific Preparation)

To have ALES (SAY / EA) score type and ALES and Foreign Language base score determined by the Health Sciences Institute Board and approved by the Hacettepe University Senate http://www.saglikbilimleri.hacettepe.edu.tr/en/menu/ales_foreign_language_scores-252

To fulfill the terms of acceptance in the master?s programme regulations of Hacettepe University, Institute of the Health Sciences.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

 ECTS credits of Microbiology Master?s Programme is 120. After the students successfully complete courses (a total of 60 ECTS credits) with an average grade of at least 75 (at least 2.50 out of 4.00), they  have to prepare a thesis on a subject chosen with their consultants at the remaining time and must defend this thesis to a jury. A master thesis is prepared in two semesters, and brings 60 ECTS credits. D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may apply for transfer if they fullfill the requirements in the Hacettepe Universty Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Microbiology Master's Programme aims to obtain graduates compatible to international standards in microbiology, having general information and understanding on microbiology.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduates may work at different companies involved in drug production, drug research, diagnostic product sales and sterilization_dysinfection. In addition, they might have opportunities to to continue their careers at universities if they go on to graduate a PhD. programme.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

The programme consists of compulsary courses (17 ECTS), elective courses (43 ECTS), and a master of science thesis (60 ECTS). Elective courses may be selected from other programmes of the Institute of Health Sciences.
