D.1. General Information about Program

Back

The graduate program in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was initiated in 1976. Currently, there are about 250 students in the graduate program. Students can choose one of the following areas to specialize in: Communication Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Electromagnetics and Microwave Techniques, Control Systems, Computers and Computer Networks, Microelectronics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Machines and Power Systems. Students take courses in their areas of interest and work on their theses under the supervision of a faculty member.

The medium of instruction is Turkish. However, applicants have to be successful in an English proficiency exam in order to be admitted to the program. The higher body responsible of all graduate education in Engineering in Hacettepe University is the Institute of Science. Hence, graduate student admission and graduate education are carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Institute.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Back

Our graduates are able to find jobs easily in the public and private sector. They are especially preferred by high technology companies and their R&D departments. Many of them are employed by companies such as ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, TAI, ROKETSAN, and Türk Telekom. In the public sector TUBİTAK, with its various research institutes, is probably the leading employer of our graduates. A significant number of them have preferred academic and research jobs in both national and foreign universities and institutions.
