D.1. General Information about Program

 The general aim of this two-years consultation-liaison master program in Hacettepe University is to train post-residency fellows who wants to be specialized  in psychiatric care of the patients in medical and surgical settings.

The basic functions of the psychiatrists working as CLP clinicians in general hospitals are to provide with psychiatric care toward patients as well as build up a healthy liaison with their primary physicians.  This master program aims to give a superior education to the  clinicians on both dimensions of the discipline.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

- The applicant must have completed psychiatry residency training at an accredited institution.

- The applicant must meet the relevant criteria of University of Hacettepe, Institute of Health Science.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

MSc degree without thesis is composed of lessons with a total of no less than 30 credits and a semester project. According to European Credit Transfer System this program consists of at least 60 credits of lessons and a semester project. Semester project is given in the last semester. Student applies for semester project in the last semester and at the end of the semester presents the project in a written report.

To graduate from the program, the student must succeed in the semester project and must have an academic average of 2.50 over 4.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The relevant regulation rules apply to the recognition of the education received by a student who previously studied at a higher education institution in Turkey or abroad;

Academic recognition of the education of these students who studied for a certain period of time in another higher education institution is determined by the decision of the academic board.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

Program objectives are:

- To develop clinical expertise in the care and management of the many types of psychiatric problems seen in the general medical setting.

- To develop skills of working collaboratively with health care providers other than psychiatrists.

- To develop leading and teaching skills as a liaison psychiatrist.

-To contribute the specific international leterature on the subject of the psychiatric car of the medically ill.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The graduates may be a canditate for employment in general hospitals as well as university clinics as a consultant psychiatrist. They may prefer to continue their education in further academic programs

D.14. Profile of the Programme

The program consists of 14 courses including 2 compulsory anc 12 elective ones (total credits of each group is 69 ECTS). During each semester, an applicant must have take courses with a total value of at least 30 credits.

D.15. Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation and assessment methods for each course defined in course teaching plan prepared by the instructor/s of the course. In relation to exams and grades the relevant articles of H.Ü. regulations are implemented.

D.16. Graduation Requirements

Master without thesis program with a total of thirty credits and at least ten courses, not less than 60 ECTS. consists of a term project course.
