D.1. General Information about Program

Masters programme in Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation within the context of the Institute of Health Sciences started in 1967-68 academic year. In accordance to the development in the field of prosthetics  and orthotics in the academic year 1996-1997 a masters and doctorate program in Prosthetics -Orthotics and Biomechanics was established under the Division Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. Graduates who have completed this program can use their developed competencies at the level of expertise in clinical and academic studies at the various specialized areas of Prosthetics -Orthotics and Biomechanics and carry out advanced professional practice and research. Students of Prosthetics -Orthotics and Biomechanics Program graduate with the `Master of Science? degree.

To graduate from the Prosthesis-Orthotics and Biomechanics Program master's degree program with thesis, one must have successfully completed a program of at least 2 years, a total of 120 ECTS credits, or have received an equivalent education abroad.

 Undergraduate education in physiotherapy and rehabilitation or international equivalent education.

To educate specialist physiotherapists at national and international level who follow the scientific and technological developments in the field of Prosthetics -Orthotics and Biomechanics, who have gained advanced and deep knowledge, skill and attitude in their education, research and practice, who can integrate their knowledge with clinical and scientific studies, who can interpret the results, who can continue life-long learning, who can contribute to educational programs related to Prosthetics -Orthotics and Biomechanics.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

The Prosthesis-Orthotics Biomechanics master's program consists of a total of 120 ECTS including compulsory and elective courses and thesis work. Students can take courses in accordance with the Prosthesis Orthotics Biomechanics program from different programs apart from their own programs.
