 The applicants willing to enroll in the Master's programme must have the conditions below;

-          Applicants should provide MSc Terms of Applications of Health Sciences Institute of Hacettepe University (http://www.healthsci.hacettepe.edu.tr/),

-          Graduate from Faculty of Pharmacy,

-          If applicants have another bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree, they may accept by the decision of academic board of the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany (If it is necessary 2 reference letters should bring)

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The programme consists of obligatory and elective courses delivered within the graduate programme of the department and in related fields, one seminar course, and thesis, with a minimum of 21 local credits.  According to European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) at least 60 ECTS credit must be acquired in obligatory and elective courses and  60 ECTS credit  must be acquired in thesis. The total ECTS credits of the programme is 120 ECTS and 1 ECTS is equal to 30 hours workload.

In addition to midterm exams and final exam, semester activities such as reports, assignments, short exams, presentations and project studies can be used as assessment methods. Students having a score of 65(C1) (out of 100) at least are passes the course. Student who failed can retake the course or can take another course with the approval of the advisor. Student can also take the course from other Institutes or doctorate programmes with the recommendations of advisor or Head of the programme and approval of Institute Administrative Board.

Student completed all required course (obligatory and elective course)with at least 2.75 academic grade can submit thesis proposal to the Institute. A student who has completed work on the thesis within the time period, must write a thesis, using the data collected, according to the specifications of the Graduate School Thesis Writing Guide. The thesis must be defended in front of a jury.  A majority vote by the jury members determines the outcome of the thesis or examination. The vote can be for "acceptance", "rejection" or "correction". To correct or change a thesis found incomplete and/or inadequate by the jury, the jury must specify in its report that such corrections are necessary. A student may be given, by a decision of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School, up to six months to complete the corrections. The student must retake the thesis examination. Student whose thesis reject by jury or incomplete the correction in given time restart the thesis study by submission of  new thesis proposal within three months.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

A student who is currently enrolled in a Master?s Degree program in related discipline at another institution and has successfully completed at least one semester, upon submitting all required documents before the deadline, he/she may transfer to the Master?s Degree Program to Hacettepe University. For the acceptance of applications, there must be master student quotas in relevant department, and the student must provide all admission requirements must be enrolled in the post-graduate program courses at least one semester and must receive a 65 (C1) note at least..

The aim of the Master's Programme of Pharmaceutical Botany is to train well-equipped Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Botany who carry out their works on scientific determination of medicinal plants and plant materials used as traditional medicine that may be pharmaceutical raw materials and excipients, excurison and herbarium studies, taxonomic and floristic studies, morphological and anatomical properties of medicinal plants , medicinal plant culture, standardization, analysis and activity studies, plant tissue cultures.

Graduates who succesfully completed The Master's Degree of Pharmaceutical Botany may work at University, hospital, drug and poison information centers, counseling centers on medicinal plants, goverment agencies such as Ministry of Health, Turkish Drug and Medical Devices Agency, Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and Ministry of Forestry

D.14. Profile of the Programme

All course are provided both in autumn and spring semester. The student has to take 120 ECTS required in order to graduate. 75% of the total credits should be taken from obligatory courses (including master thesis course) and the remaining 25% of the total credits should be taken from elective courses. All obligatory and elective course are listed in Course Structure Diagram. Students can take these courses in different semester with the condition of ensure of total credit requirements.

D.15. Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation and assessment methods for each course are defined by the information packages for each course in the program. In order to be successful in a graduate course, the student must receive at least C1 (65). H.U. Graduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied for achievement scores for exams and courses.

D.16. Graduation Requirements

As described in the part of ?Qualification Requirements and Regulations?, the program consists of a total of 60 ECTS credits with the prerequisite of obligatory and elective courses and 60 ECTS credits including thesis work and special topics courses. In order to get a Masters degree, the student must take The Research in MS Thesis course and must be successful in his/her thesis defense.
