D.1. General Information about Program

Department of Statistics was founded in 1967 as the first Statistics undergraduate program in Turkey. Masters'degree program launched at the same year. Department of Statistics coordinates teaching and research in statistical science. The primary aim of program is, to educate well qualified individuals on statistics. Education language is Turkish.

Admission to Master's degree Program in Statistics is coordinated by Institue of Graduate Studies in Science Regulations.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

To complete the Master's degree program with thesis, students must earn minimum of 120 ECTS credits according to Hacettepe University Regulations on Graduate Studies in Science. 60 ECTS of total credits must be course credits, and 60 ECTS must be earned from the master thesis.

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning is applied according to the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations, November 23, 2012.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

The primary aim of program is to educate the well qualified statisticians having the ability of analytical thinking and ability of solve complex problems on various study area of statistics.

To complete the Master's degree program with thesis, students must earn minimum of 120 ECTS credits according to Hacettepe University Regulations on Graduate Studies in Science. 60 ECTS of total credits must be course credits, and 60 ECTS must be earned from the master thesis.

All selective courses are department courses. Students do no need to take out-of-department courses.

The evaluation and grading of each course is defined for each courses in the course details. Grading is applied through the rules given in “Hacettepe University Regulations on Graduate Education and Examination” documentations.
