MINING ENGINEERING PROGRAMME

D.1. General Information about Program

Hacettepe University, Department of Mining Engineering having a distinguished place among the mining engineering departments in Turkey, aims at bringing out engineers knowledgeable in extraction and beneficiation ores, capable of using computers and possessing good social qualifications.

There are Mineral Processing and Mining divisions in our department where the language of education is English.

Due to the discipline and the area of interests of Mining Engineering being very wide, there are elective courses in the department which will provide more information to the students in the subjects they prefer. Additionally, there are thorough laboratory applications together with theoretical courses. It is compulsory for students to conclude two summer practices each being 20 work days.

There are mining, rock mechanics, marble technologies, ventilation, mineral processing and chemical analysis laboratories in our department. In these laboratories, all tests are performed according to the standards and various services are offered regarding mineral processing tests, underground and open pit mining and tunneling. Also, in our department, there is a computer laboratory with well-equipped computers assigned for the use of the students.
