D.1. General Information about Program

In pharmacy undergraduate education; the knowledge and skills provided for the pharmacy profession often do not fully meet the needs when evaluated in terms of pharmacy services in the hospital. During undergraduate education, the inadequacy of professional knowledge, especially in transforming pharmacy practices in hospitals; It can cause problems during the employment of pharmacists in hospitals where there is an institutional service approach. With this program; in hospital services, both in patient care and in all of the pharmacy services carried out in the hospital; It is aimed to train pharmacists equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills, to contribute to their professional practices, and to train competent pharmacists in all areas needed by hospitals.

The language of instruction of the program is Turkish. Students must take at least 32 local credits / 90 ECTS course credits to graduate. In addition to the theoretical courses, the training program also includes practical courses. Elective courses related to the basic and vocational courses specified in the program are given by the Departments of Clinical Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Toxicology and Biopharmaceuticals and Pharmacokinetics within the body of Hacettepe University Health Sciences Institute and the relevant Departments within our University. Practical courses can be carried out in hospital pharmacies, inpatient clinics and outpatient clinics when necessary.

ALES and Foreign Language score requirements are not required.

To meet the requirements of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and the Institute of Health Sciences.

D.5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to graduate from the program, students must select 60 ECTS credits and complete the semester project (30 ECTS) with compulsory courses. It is necessary to earn at least 25% of total course credits from elective courses in and out of the field, to complete the courses and term project successfully according to the provisions of Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Exam Regulations and to provide at least 2.50 general academic average. 

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Successful students who have studied at the university or other higher education institutions' hospital pharmacy or clinical pharmacy (without thesis) graduate programs for at least one semester can apply to transfer to the Hospital Pharmacy graduate program at the University. For applications to be accepted; Having a graduate, student quota in the related department / department, the student must meet the admissions requirements of the graduate program that the student wants to graduate, and must have received at least 65 (C1) grades from each of the courses taken by at least one semester.

 

Admissions and adaptations of students whose transfer is deemed appropriate by the department committee are finalized by the decision of the institute board of directors.

Hospital Pharmacy graduate education program is to provide students with a certain knowledge about drugs and their treatment in accordance with rational drug use principles; To acquire multidisciplinary, researcher, questioner and evidence-based application skills and to ensure that the information produced is transformed into an innovative and quality service in hospitals.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduated pharmacists from this program can work in hospital pharmacy or the hospital inpatient services and outpatient clinics, in public institutions and organizations such as Medicine and Medical Devices Agency, Public Health Agency such as the Public Hospitals Authority, may be involved in drug and poison information centers and professional organizations.

D.14. Profile of the Programme

The program consists of theoretical and practical courses and a term project. 40% of the courses are compulsory and 60% should be elective. Elective courses consist of in-field and out-of-field courses and start from the first semester of education. Practical courses are held in hospital pharmacies and inpatient services, outpatient clinics and related units. The compulsory courses in the program are semester and elective courses can be opened in both semesters. There is a prerequisite for only Hospital Pharmacy-II and Hospital Pharmacy Practices-II. While the courses in the program provide the student with basic information about the field from the first semester, practical courses are aimed at transforming the learned knowledge into skill and competence.

D.15. Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Exams consist of midterm exams, general exams, condition exams and make-up exams. The success level of a course is determined by the course grade. A student who scores at least C1 (65-69 out of 100) from a course is considered successful. The course success grade is obtained by evaluating the student's success (midterm exams, assignments, practical studies etc.) and the general exam together in the semester. The effect of mid-term evaluations on course success grade is 50%. Students who do not take the general exam are considered unsuccessful from that course.



D.16. Graduation Requirements

The non-thesis master's program consists of courses with a total of 30 credits and not less than 60 ECTS, and a term project course of 30 ECTS. A non-thesis master's diploma is given to a non-thesis master's student who fulfills the Graduation Requirements of the HU Graduate Education and Examination Regulations.
