D.1. General Information about Program

LLM Programme in Private Law aims to equip students with an in-depth understanding of the core areas of private law. The goal of LLM programme is to provide students with a wide range of skills, knowledge, attitude, values and ethos for effective practice of law. It aims at providing students with the necessary skills to play an active role in the process of creating law, with the knowledge, skills and confidence that will equip them to contribute positively to society. The programme is intended to produce excellent LLM graduates tooled to contribute to national, regional and international development and to serve the legal profession and the community with life-long dedication, passion and the pursuit for excellence.

D.4. Provisions for Registration

1. All candidates must have an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree from a Law Faculty in Turkey or from a Foreign Law Faculty recognized by theTurkish Higher Education Board.

2. Applicants are required to score at least 70 standard points from verbal or equally weight categories of the Academic Staff and Graduate Education Examination (Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitimine Giriş Sınavı, ALES) organized by Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi, ÖSYM). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score, determined by the Hacettepe University Senate, in the internationally recognized GRE and GMAT examinations.

3. Applicants are required to score at least 50 in the Foreign Knowledge in Foreign Language Placement Examination (Yabancı Dil Seviye Tespit Sınavı, YDS). Alternatively, applicants are required to submit an equivalent score from other foreign language examinations, held at the national or international level, whose equivalence is approved by ÖSYM.

4. International students' applications are accepted in line within “Hacettepe University Graduate Programme and Exam Regulation" in Official Gazette (29 November 2016, No:29900).

5. Those conditions, which are not included below, are applied in accordance with the related provisions of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education, Instruction and Examination Regulations (Hacettepe Üniversitesi Lisansüst Eğitim, Öğretim ve Sınav Yönetmeliği).

D.6. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who are eligible to enroll the Master's Program must have an undergraduate degree or an equivalent degree from foreign institutions.

D.7. Goals and Objectives

The teaching aim of the Law Faculty is to ensure that we provide our students with a student centred learning environment which stresses the importance of both theory and practices thus enabling our students to develop a depth of understanding about the law and it's practical application.Through the acquisition of knowledge and the training of respective competences, the graduates of LLM programme will be prepared to become highly-skilled experts and decision makers in law firms, civil service, private companies and academia.

D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduates of the program will have the "Private Law Master's Degree". Students who graduate from the program can be employed in a variety of fields both in the public sector and the private sector.

D.15. Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation and assessment methods for each course is defined in a "Course Teaching Plan", which is prepared by the faculty members who teaches that course. The relevant articles of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations apply to the exams and grades of the courses.
