Course objectiveThis course aims to introduce the students to the linguistic analysis of texts from the Uyghur period; to study Uyghur texts written in different alphabets; to discuss the religious, cultural and societal influence of these texts; and to train students in the methods of their translation. 
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of this course the student will: -Become acquainted with the linguistic analysis of Uyghur texts and get familiar to different scripts -Analyze the religious, cultural and societal influence of these texts. -Familiarize the students on their translation techniques -be able to translate texts of Manichaeistic Uyghur; Buddhist Uyghur, Christian Uyghur, and lay Uyghur as well as Uyghur of a later period.
