Course objectiveThis course aims to introduce the students to the linguistic methods, and their impact on Turkology. The student will use concepts like formalism, structuralism, semiotics and inter-textual analysis to interpret issues of Turkish language, literature, culture, society, history, folklore and art. 
Learning outcomes
  1. By the end of this course the student will: -Become acquainted with the major methods and concepts of linguistics -Apply these methods in Turkology -Utilize formalism, structuralism, semiotics and inter-textual analysis to interpret issues of Turkish language, literature, culture, society, history, folklore and art.
