Course objectiveAn examination, under the conditions of modernity and globalisation, of social reproduction; types of social inequality, gender differentiations and gender relations; class, social stratification and patterns of social mobility; forms of domination and subjection; social relations between ethnic groups, minorities and dominant groups; new world order and international relations 
Learning outcomes
  1. Understand and explain how different sociological perspectives analyse, explain and interpret contemporary manifestations of the forms of social divisions and exclusion; class, status and patterns of social mobility; structures of gender relations, race and ethnic relations, the relations of power and domination and the new world order and international relations
  2. Have a raised critical awarenes about the relations between and the problems arising from social and cultural structures and processes and the various domains of individual and social life
