Course objectiveTo make the students know concepts related to patient safety, reasons of patient safety problems, and how to improve patient safety. 
Learning outcomes
  1. At the end of this course, students are expected to develop a conceptual understanding of patient safety; understand the role of individuals and system in improving patient safety; aware of the importance of patient safety culture, teamwork and communication; know the advantages and limitations of error reporting and learning systems, know how to disclose errors and adverse events, know methods, tools and programs that can be used for improving patient safety.
Course ContentPatient safety, IOM reports, patient safety culture, teamwork and communication, measuring and improving patient safety, reporting and learning systems, medication safety, disclosure of medical errors, JCI and patient safety, patient safety programs at WHO, patient safety in Turkey.
