Course objectiveThe aim of this course is examine the main political currents in Turkey and their prominent figures to discuss the specific and general characteristics of those political currents to Turkey. 
Learning outcomes
  1. Learns how Turkish thought life has been constituted.
  2. Identify intellectual distinction points.
  3. In what contexts and how to approach personalities influencing Turkish political life.
Course ContentThe course contains the headings such as Westernisation, official ideology, liberalism, conservatism, nationalism, Islamism and Turkish left.
