Course objectiveThe aim of the course is to enable the students to be able to translate the texts and interpret the speeches that fall in the field of Turkish Patent Office consecutively, simultaneously and also render sight translation thereof, also considering the theoretical framework of translation studies. 
Learning outcomes
  1. The students will be able to 1. acquire knowledge and terminology on patent, utility model, trademark, industrial design, geographical signs, integrated circuit topographies
  2. 2. Learn how to facilitate translation and interpretation studies, strategies and techniques within the scope of patent translation and interpreting practices.
  3. 3. Learn how to render the translation and interpreting of the requests to be made at home and abroad in the abovementioned topics.
  4. 4.Develop familiarity to the relevant legislation
  5. 5.Develop a holistic and topic-focused approach to translation and interpreting of such texts and speeches
Course ContentThis course encompasses translation and interpretation of patent, utility model, trademark, industrial design, geographical signs, integrated circuit topographies in the light of theoretical and practical framework.
